This Privacy Policy explains how the organizers of SYNC Hackathon (“we”, “us”, or “organizers”) handle personal data in connection with the event website, registration, and on-site or remote participation.

We collect information you provide when you register or communicate with us, which may include:

• Identity and contact details (name, email, phone if provided)
• Team information, role, school or organization, and experience level
• Project and submission materials needed for judging
• Communications you send to the organizing team
• Limited technical data needed to operate the website (such as standard server logs)

Team registration is handled through an embedded Tally form. When you submit the form, the information you enter is processed by Tally according to their own terms and privacy practices, and made available to the organizers for event operations.

We use participant information to:

• Process registrations and manage attendance
• Communicate event logistics, schedule changes, and important notices
• Support mentoring, judging, and prize administration
• Operate venue access, safety, and partner coordination where needed
• Improve future editions of the hackathon

We share personal data only as needed to run the event, including with:

• Organizing staff and volunteers under confidentiality expectations
• Judges and mentors, limited to what is required for evaluation or support
• Venue or partner contacts when necessary for access, catering, or sponsorship fulfillment
• Service providers that host forms, email, or infrastructure (such as Tally)

We do not sell participant personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of participants and organizers.

We retain registration and event records only as long as reasonably needed for operations, prize follow-up, legal compliance, and planning future events. We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold about you by emailing contact@hexaflex.dz. We may need to retain limited records where required for legitimate event, legal, or security purposes.

The hackathon is intended for participants who meet the eligibility rules announced for this edition. If you believe we collected information from someone who should not have registered, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

We may update this Privacy Policy as event processes change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the website or participation after updates constitutes awareness of the revised policy.
