Agreement
By accessing this website or registering for SYNC Hackathon, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Participant Handbook. If you do not agree, do not register or participate.
The event
SYNC Hackathon is a time-boxed hackathon organized for learning, collaboration, and competition. Event details such as date, venue (Centre El Manar), schedule, tracks, and prizes may be updated before or during the event. Organizers will communicate material changes through the website, email, or on-site announcements.
Eligibility & registration
Participation requires timely registration through the official form and compliance with any eligibility rules announced for this edition. Providing inaccurate information may result in removal from the event.
Registration does not guarantee a prize, mentorship slot, or specific hardware/software resources unless explicitly confirmed by organizers.
Participant conduct
You agree to behave respectfully toward other participants, mentors, judges, partners, and staff. You must not harass others, disrupt the venue or network, cheat, plagiarize another team’s work, or attempt to compromise event systems.
Organizers may warn, reassign, or disqualify participants or teams for violations, including after judging if misconduct is discovered.
Submissions & intellectual property
Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, your team retains ownership of the intellectual property in the work you create during the hackathon, subject to third-party rights in libraries, APIs, datasets, and tools you use.
By submitting a project, you grant the organizers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use your team name, project name, demo materials, screenshots, and short descriptions for event operations, judging, and non-commercial promotion of SYNC Hackathon (including website, social media, and partner recaps).
You represent that your submission does not knowingly infringe others’ rights and that you have permission to use any third-party assets included in your demo.
Judging & prizes
Judging follows the published criteria and process. Judge and organizer decisions regarding scoring, category awards, and eligibility are final.
Prize amounts, categories, and payment logistics (including currency) will be announced by organizers. Prizes may require identity verification, tax documentation, or other reasonable follow-up. Organizers are not responsible for delays caused by incomplete winner information.
Third-party tools & services
The website may embed or link to third-party services such as registration forms (including Tally), social platforms, or partner sites. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Organizers are not responsible for third-party content or outages outside their control.
Event changes & cancellation
Organizers may modify, postpone, or cancel parts of the event for safety, venue, weather, technical, or organizational reasons. Where practical, participants will be notified promptly. Organizers are not liable for travel, lodging, or other costs you incur in connection with attending.
Disclaimer & limitation
The website and event are provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, organizers disclaim warranties regarding uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, organizers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation or use of the website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
